Accelerated Nursing Degree Programs
If you are looking at finding a nursing school or college to get your degree faster then accelerated nursing degree programs could be what you are looking for. With the US Department of Labor requiring an additional 1 million qualified nurses over the next 7 years for new posts and to replaced existing registered nurses now is a great time to get qualified.
What is an Accelerated Program ?
The programs are exactly how they are described in that they are a fast track method and fastest route to get qualified as a registered nurse (RN). It can take as little as 11 months to complete a fast track baccalauteate program including all the pre-requisites and up to 18 months in some colleges.
These are programs where you already have a bachelors or graduate degree in a non nursing subject.
Where can you access a program ?
You should be able to access a program almost anywhere including Canada and there are over 218 accelerated degree programs in 43 states in the US including NJ PA NC CT MA CA IL VA etc.
Although financial aid for students on these types of programs is normally limited many establishments are offering the repayment of tuition fees by ways of recruiting qualified nurses so it may be best to either discuss this with your nursing school to see what links they have with local hospitals or contact health care establishments you wish to work for and see if they have any existing partnerships.
